She was a part of Tyana Jones on the TV One original series Love That Girl!, and had a recurring role on Roxanne in the CBS soap show The Young and the Restless from 2007 to 2013. Ali, aged six years old, began her acting career in the year 1985 as a regular performer for the PBS children's educational program Sesame Street. She performed with the jazz legend Herbie Hancock. Hancock demonstrated the Fairlight CMI synthesizer by using Ali's voice. Star Search featured her on two episodes.
