
DeWitt first performed on stage at the age of 13 years old. DeWitt was a graduate of Ball State University with a Bachelor's degree in Arts. In the summer of her stock production, she was convinced by director John Toth to join UCLA's Department of Theater MFA Program. She was given the Master of Fine Arts Fellowship and the Clifton Webb Scholarship. Dewitt said she never met actor Abe Vigoda while she was at UCLA. She was employed as secretary during her time at UCLA. DeWitt is most famous for her performance in Three's company's run from 1977 until 1984 as Janet Wood. This was a job that she got after being selected for the second pilot. She also portrayed Janet in an episode in 1979 from the spinoff series , The Ropers. After Three's Company ended in 1984, DeWitt appeared in an episode of Finder of Lost Loves in 1984 following which she resigned from acting for a while. Her acting resume included an appearance in the production of Noises Off at Michigan's Cherry County Playhouse in June 1991. [1] She later appeared in the 1995 TV comedy film Spring Fling! Pinky and the Brain aired in 1997, and featured characters based on her. The voice actor was a different actress. She was featured on the episode Cybill and made a cameo on the penultimate episode of Living Single. [6] Her 2000s works include TV shows like Hope Island, The Nick at Nite Holiday Special and Call of the Wild.
