
Carol Lynley (born Carole Ann Jones (born February 13, 1942 - September 3, 2019) was an American actress known for her roles in the movies Blue Denim (1959) and The Poseidon Adventure (1972).Lynley was born in Manhattan to an Irish father and a New England mother. Her first job was as a model for children before becoming an actor. She was awarded the Theatre World Award in 1956-57 for her performance as The Potting Shed. Lynley began her film career in 1958 by appearing in her debut in the Disney film The Light in the Forest. She was followed by Holiday for Lovers (1959), and Blue Denim (1959). In 1959, she was nominated for the Golden Globe Award as Most Promising Female Newcomer - Female. The following year she was again nominated for the Golden Globe Award as Most Promising Female Newcomer - Female.
